Well, this week for my nature awareness, I spent some time roasting in the shade underneath the mustang grape, watching the grapes swell and the leaves shrivel. It’s triple-digit hot; we broke 100 degrees 3 months earlier than normal, and our rainfall is down. It’s easy to conjure an image in my mind of the colours of the grape leaves and how the feelers on the vine are reaching and straining out to find supports. It is the next plant in my sketchbook; I will post a sketch when it is complete.
