Week 16 wrap-up

First, I only did this exercise once this week. I probably should have done it more frequently, seeing what I experienced, but, I’ve decided to go ahead and do this again this coming week, and not change the meditation, like I usually do.

I discovered that, prior to ‘unwinding’ the Chakras in the manner Villoldo suggests, I could feel my solar plexus chakra in an interesting way. Although it didn’t ‘hurt’, it was like running my hand over a splinter sticking out, and when I was in contact with it, I could tell it was moving and ‘stuck’ inside the body (stiff or inflexible). The other chakras didn’t feel this way.

I went through and unwound/rewound the chakras using his method described. I just did a few deep breaths; I was pretty relaxed, and I’ve done this now before. I used my left hand.  When I first started, I had a hard time sensing the right place to do this for each chakra, but as I persisted, I was able to feel more and more the right places on my body to unwind and rewind. Now, I can do it pretty quickly, and I don’t fumble around. This week, most of my chakras ‘felt’ pretty good, except my solar plexus. And when I attempted to clear it, I actually became nauseous. Overall, I felt much better, afterward; just a general sense of well-being.

The Actual Week 16 Meditation Practice and Sources

Conveniently enough, this method requires no tools, no stones, no gadgets and no special preparation.  If you have any of those things, you can use them to clear Chakras.

In Alberto Villoldo’s great little book, The Four Insights, he describes this method of chakra clearing used by the Inca and Amazon Shamans which requires no tools whatsoever, other than your hands and your focus:

  • First, you lie down and take a few deep breaths, just to relax your muscles and get into a comfortable posture so that you can do the exercise without discomfort or distraction. No need for a trance state.
  • Then using the palm of your hand held about two or three inches above your body with the palm facing your body, you are going to use simple movement — either hand is fine to use — to “unwind” each Chakra and allow any sluggishness or debris in it to be expelled.
  • You begin above the Root Chakra.  Using your hand palm facing the body, you make small circles that run counterclockwise.  Do this 10 times.  That “unwinds” the Chakra and you can reach in there and remove any blockages or sluggishness.
  • Then once clear, you use your palm in the same position to put the Chakra back the way it was by going clockwise ten times to wind it back up.
  • Again, you would start with the Root Chakra and work your way up to the Crown.

Now if you’re not certain of where the exact location of a chakra is, just do the exercise in several places and see if you get any response.  It does affect some people by sensations of heat or cold and/or makes them tingle or feel some emotion as they do it above the various Chakras.

Week 16!! Meditation

I can’t believe I’m on week 16. This is actually very hard, and I’m starting to grind again. I’m determined to make it through – I’m more than halfway! For this week’s practice, I’m going to do this exercise AT LEAST TWICE. It’s something I learned from a Shaman named Fionnula, who learned it from Alberto Villoldo. Again, it’s from one of his books that I have; and it was part of the course of study I took.

The purpose of the practice is to clear energy blockages in the Chakras. I found the practice to be of great value, so I’m going to implement it this week.

I’ll document the actual practice, the sources and my results at end of week.

Week 15 Wrap-up

I can’t believe another week has come and gone. This one worked so much better than what I had been doing before. I have to learn not to pressure myself with very rigid standards; I have to learn how to pace myself, when to push and when to go easier.

The meditation itself is actually very healing and restful. This is one that I will continue to practice.
