Week 22 meditation

This is a guided meditation, at least at first, that I intend to work with for some weeks. It has great value, and it is helping me see where I am very weak, and need more work. Again, I have a foundation problem; I tend not to be grounded or belong anywhere, and this meditation is bringing healing and teaching. This was shared last week on an Oracle Study that I am involved with, and I asked our Teacher for inclusion into this practice here at ADF.

Perform this meditation, either in or out of the shower and please share your experiences.

Relax, and imagine you are a beautiful waterfall. [Give yourself a
few moments for this] Now…repeat a few times in your mind…or
ask your guide to do so for you…he/she just might.
“The water flows in…..the water flows away…

See yourself as the water flows into you, and see yourself as the
water flows away from you…You are still a waterfall, you are
allowing the water to flow from above into you, and to flow outwards
away from you.

You are a beautiful waterfall…water flows into you, water flows
out from you. You are refreshed, you are cleansed, you are healed,
and you are quenched.
See the animals and the people rest within you, see them being
quenched, being refreshed in you. See them being cleansed, being
healed in you.

The Water flows into you, the Water flows out from you.

The sun shines on you and you sparkle and twinkle, rainbow colours
form and disappear in you…you are glorious, you are beautiful.
The moon shines on you and you are luminescent.
You reflect her face and the see the stars twinkle within you.

The Water flows into you, the Water flows out from you.

A pond is formed where your feet are. Within that pond people can
sit, swim or play. The waters quench them and relax them, it
cleanses them
and refreshes them.
They learn and experience from their immersion within you.

You are the waterfall. The waters flow into you…from above. The
waters flow out from below.
The waters are all colours, all spirits. You accept them, you enfold
them, and you let them go. You give them to others, you use them,
you release them.

You are the waterfall, you are beautiful

The Water flows into you, and the Water flows out from you.

Week 21 Recap

Journeying always works for me; it is the most consistent mental training and practice I have. It brings healing, joy, calm and Teaching; when the 23 weeks of qualification are done, this will be an enduring part of my weekly practice. In looking back, I also will do the simple grounding exercises and the repetitive motion. These things tend to endure for me, and have since childhood, actually.

Week 21 Meditation – back to journeying

This week, I’m highly stressed, so I’m going to do, at least 4 times this week in addition to the meditation for the ADF class with Jessie Olson, a series of journies to the Upperworld to visit my Sacred Grove. I need the peace and the healing. That will be the whole purpose of the journey – to meet my Spirit Mate, to meet with the keeper of my Grove, and to work on opening my heart.

Week 20 recap

This was an interesting meditation. I don’t necessarily resonate with Thoth, but, I am working on opening my heart chakra and this meditation had a nice feel to it. Since this was a ‘guided’ meditation, I only performed it once, because I don’t generally like guided meditation. I found it useful, though, because it helped me visualise energies for my heart chakra, and it also emphasized that I definitely need quite a bit of work there.

I don’t, however, think that I will revisit a lot of guided meditation.

Not sure how I feel about this

On the lists, a new member asked a question about working with pets in ritual, and in how the members responded, I could see that my mindset was completely different, and potentially misunderstood. In fact, I considered some of the responses decidedly odd.

One person went on a rant about a pet bird that would never be included in ritual due to lack of safety for the bird; I tend to agree – after all, I certainly would not wish to harm any of my human or non-human family members. However, that’s what tailoring a ritual to accommodate the participants is all about. One of my human friends as a back injury and walks with two canes, and when he participates, I would tailor the ritual for his safety and ability. It’s no different. Another member seemed to see this only as ‘using’ an animal as some sort of stand-in for a nature spirit or something. Yikes! As if! Other animals are not animated material objects. And besides, All That Is, Is Alive.

My take on it is this: non-human animals are equal to the human ones in my family. My family also includes a being from the Otherworld, a Spirit-Mate, so my ‘family’ is very unconventional, indeed. I would no more bar them from attending ritual or not seek to include them as I would my sister, my niece, my other human friends or family. When they attend ritual, the humans and non-humans do so as equals. They are attendants.  Some participate in ritual, others do not. But their energy and connection is still there. Humans are just another type of animal; we are also Divine beings that have access to the Otherworlds. Guess what – so do all other animals.

I was very unsettled by this thread, and I just wanted to record my reaction to it.
